Well, I said that I would do at least a couple more posts during Christmas time, so here we go.
A few big things have happened in the past month and a half. One of those things being, that I lost my job.
The last weekend of November, I was called into the HR office...as soon as I saw my boss sitting there, I knew exactly what was going on. Well actually, at first I thought they were going to fire me. Maybe I called in sick too many times (whoopsie), but actually my HR manager gave me this huge speech on how terrible they felt, and it was just business that had to be done yada yada. So they laid me off. Everyone blames it on the economic downfall when in all reality, I'm pretty sure it's not. My job has been pointless (in my opinion) ever since it started. Of course, when things were really busy, they definitely needed me... but that was about 30% of the time. Anyways, in the end, I wasn't surprised that new technology was basically replacing me, and I was probably the happiest I've been in the past year and half. WOOOOHOOOOO. Finally, a reason to get the heck outta there! That took forever!
In explanation...for the past several months, my job made me absolutely miserable. The traffic, the distance, the job itself...I just couldn't handle it anymore. I wanted a way out, and I couldn't bring myself to quit. I actually started crying on my way home that night, because I was so happy that my prayer had been answered. I had been struggling with what I should do, go find another job or stay put, or what. Well I guess the decision was made for me, and I really didn't expect Heavenly Father to give me such an easy way out. Of course those happy tears altered a little bit when I realized I have to go find myself a good job, but I'm still looking at the big picture. I hope that this will be a good thing for us, as I am pretty sure it will be.
So anyways, I have all this time off right before Christmas, and it's pretty surreal! I'm so glad I will be able to spend a LOT more time with my family than I had originally expected.

So we are most certainly enjoying the Christmas season! It's quite funny though...the closer the 25th gets, the more depressed I get. I want Christmas time to last so much longer, next thing I know...it's going to be over. And I cannot stress this enough...I HATE January. haha Oh well, I'm going to enjoy it while I can. I'm in disbelief that it's only over a week away.

I have finished ALL of my Christmas shopping earlier than usual, which I have realized...isn't necessarily the smartest! You know why? Because it gives you more time to find MORE sales, and more great items to buy for the people you have already bought for! And when people are doing their last minute shopping, and invite you to tag along...you find yourself in shopping mode again...and that is too much temptation! I guess this logic only works if you enjoy shopping for other people, and I am surely one of those people. So I'm pretty sure I'll end up squeezing in a few last minute gifts before Christmas Day.
I finished all of my wrapping yesterday, when it was too cold to even look outside. I love wrapping gifts, it's so much fun.
I just LOVE the feeling of Christmas, when my house smells like Christmas, all cozy and warm. I'll be so sad when it's over. I wish it lasted until the end of March. Although I guess it wouldn't be as special if it lasted that long.
I'm off to enjoy another Christmas evening, maybe I'll do another entry, we'll see.....
Merry Christmas to all!

Hooray!!! Another post! I didn't realize that about your job, I'm glad that it has been a positive thing for you! Your tree/decorations and presents look great! I love wrapping gifts too, it's so fun!! Just turning on the Christmas music and wrapping for hours...heaven! And don't worry, Jacey doesn't hate you!!! However, we are working on getting his bedtime back to normal, I think he had a little too much fun with you and Mark! :)
I loved your pictures! That was a great post, sorry about your job though... well sorry and congrats I guess!
and Merry Christmas!
I'm glad you did another post. Like I said it is my way of keeping in touch w/ family and friends all the way in China. Good luck finding another job. I'm sure things will work out just fine. Merry Christmas to you guys!
Holy Crap, I can relate to all of your feelings about your job. I feel that way here and have for a while and didn't know how I should quit and was it worth it to deal with the stress of finding and adjusting to new employment. But you will find something else, I am sure of it and things can only get better at this point, right? If I was on mat leave in 3 1/2 months I'd hope to get out of here asap!
I must add it was nice to finally read a post on your blog :) Merry Christmas to you both and take care!
I'm glad you blogged again. Kind of a bitter/sweet with the job. You'll find where you're supposed to be! good luck with that! see ya on sunday (at least i think that's the day planned for carolling....)
If you feel the need to wrap more presents you are more the welcome to come down and help me. I think this is the first year I am not done with shopping early. It probably has to do with all the changes and adding 2 extra people for Christmas.
I am glad you posted again. It really is nice to hear from the cousins up north :)
